Q – I want to donate but I don’t know where the money goes?

A – Our non-profit sponsor Seattle Parks Foundation manages charitable donations. For this service, SPF takes a small percentage of the money donated. The remainder goes directly to Bellevue Green & Clean for programming and supplies. Everyone involved in Bellevue Green & Clean is a volunteer, receiving no monetary compensation.

Q – I want to get involved. How do I start?

A – Following Bellevue Green & Clean on Facebook is a great way to see what’s going on. You can also send an email, asking to be added to our mailing list.

Q – Does Bellevue Green & Clean offer community service hours for students?

A – Yes, as a non-profit affiliate of Seattle Parks Foundation, we can offer community service hours for students.

Q – My employer offers matching funds for volunteer hours through Benevity. Does Bellevue Green & Clean participate in this program?

A – Yes, we welcome company matching funds for your volunteer hours. You give back, your company matches and Bellevue Green & Clean grows. Win, win, win!

Q – Can my family participate? We have pre-teen children.

A – Yes, many of our cleanup events are family-friendly. We ask that participants be at least 16 years old unless accompanied by a parent. Some of our activities, like Adopt-a-Highway, are not appropriate for young children, however.

Q – I lead a Cub Scout pack. Can we do a cleanup?

A – Absolutely! We love to partner with Scout groups of all ages and are happy to host age-appropriate cleanup events.

Q – Is Bellevue Green & Clean the same thing as Keep Bellevue Beautiful?

A – Bellevue Green & Clean is a grassroots non-profit volunteer group, while Keep Bellevue Beautiful is a program run by the City of Bellevue. We both care about our community and both work to remove litter. You can participate with one group or the other, or, even better, with both!

Q – Would Bellevue Green & Clean consider doing a singles cleanup or other special interest themed event?

A – We will absolutely consider any requests for special cleanup events. There are so many different ways to connect with people and we’re open to any and all ideas.
